How to make a gift of stocks and bonds
FOR OUR DONOR:
Thank you for your interest in contributing a gift of stock to Tanager! Please provide (or have your financial advisor provide) the following information to Melissa Walker, [email protected], as soon as possible to facilitate your transfer of stock:
- Your name and contact information, so Tanager can acknowledge your gift.
- Name or ticker symbol of stock or mutual fund and number of shares gifted.
- Expected date the stock or mutual fund transfer will be completed.
- Last four digits of the account number and name of the firm delivering the stock gift.

There are special rules for valuing a gift of stock. The value of a charitable gift of stock is determined by taking the mean between the high and low stock price on the date of the gift. Mutual fund shares are valued using the closing price for the fund on the date of the gift.
